Job Description

Lead Piping Design Coordinator

As a Lead Piping Design Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in delivering complex oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical and heavy industrial projects You’ll lead piping design coordination across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, safe and constructible design outcomes.

Working closely with project engineers, discipline leads and clients, you’ll help deliver integrated design solutions while coordinating work across both local teams and our Global Design Centres.

What you’ll be doing

You will lead and coordinate piping design activities across complex projects, ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines and high-quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading piping design coordination including 3D modelling, layout optimisation and constructability reviews
  • Managing multidisciplinary design integration across structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and instrumentation
  • Overseeing production and review of piping isometrics, general arrangements and fabrication deliverables
  • Supporting smart, data-driven engineering delivery and digital design workflows
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to designers and modellers locally and globally
  • Facilitating model reviews with project teams and clients
  • Supporting planning, resourcing and delivery of piping design activities

What you’ll bring

You’re someone who thrives in complex engineering environments and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in piping design within oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical or heavy industry
  • Expertise in Autodesk Plant 3D and Aveva for intelligent 3D model development
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs within integrated 3D environments
  • Strong capability in P&ID interpretation, piping layouts and isometric production
  • Understanding of industry codes, Australian standards, ISO information standards and digital practices which includes development of digital pipe specifications
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or guiding designers and modellers
  • Ability to manage priorities and delivery across multiple projects
