TheLead Outreach Phlebotomy Technician supports the Team Leader by coordinating the daily operations of outreach phlebotomy staff.This team supports theSales Outreach Department within the Laband plays a vital role in providing mobile phlebotomy services tonursing homes, rehabilitation centers,and other care facilities. Team membersare responsible fordrawing blood, as well as picking up and delivering specimens todesignatedhubslocatedon theEast Side, West Side, and Medina, withMercybeing added soon.Preferred qualifications include3 years of relevant experience, withleadership experienceconsidered a strong asset. Candidates shoulddemonstratethe ability toinfluence others, work independently, andmaintaina strongattention to detailin a fast-paced, field-based environment.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, 4:00am—8:00pm or 7:00am—8:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Performing phlebotomy and processing duties.
Assistingwith supervisory responsibilities.
Monitoring and ensuringtimelyspecimen collection and processing.
Distributing and balancing workload among traveling phlebotomists and lab processing staff.
Facilitate development & training fornew staffand peersponsorduring their new hire period.
Assistwith supervisory duties when needed.
Participate in hiringprocessas well as input on employee performance, including corrective actions and evaluations.
Assist the Team Lead in developing,trainingand delivering educational programs for both the traveling outreach phlebotomy team and our Extended Care Clients.
Build a strong working relationship with internal and/or external customers to meet their needs.
Travel to patientlocations,these include but are not limited to client’s facilities, and house calls.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire or within the first 3 months of employment)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduation certificate from a formal accredited Phlebotomy program
Associate’s Degree
ASCP Phlebotomy Certification
3 years of experience
Leadershipexperience
