Job Title: Lead Phlebotomist
Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Location: St. Francis Hospital
As a Lead Phlebotomist you will:

Train staff and performs competencies on proper phlebotomy technique.
Oversee phlebotomy staff and provides direction.
Approach patients in a professional, caring, friendly, manner.
Accurately identifies patients according to policy. Ensure that physician orders are correctly, accurately, and completely entered into the computer system.
Ensure that all specimens are collected, transported, and processed using proper procedures and techniques.
Ensure that all specimens are correctly and accurately labeled with appropriate information.
Process specimens and add-on requests for laboratory analysis.
Distribute specimens to analytical areas in a timely manner.
Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement functions.
Maintain phlebotomy schedule to ensure lab and OP lab are adequately staffed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and previous phlebotomy experience, or completion of a Phlebotomy course of study with externship.
Phlebotomy Certification required.
Phlebotomy experience with infants and young children.
Clerical experience.
Previous laboratory information system experience in a hospital setting desirable.
Prior supervisory experience preferred
