As Steam Performance and Thermodynamic Engineer, you will be responsible to provide steam turbine heat balance calculations, functional specifications for mechanical equipment, performance predictions and performance correction curves for different requisition (REQ) projects worldwide. Activities contribute to the design and development of products, solutions and overall steam turbine system design for combined cycle projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Calculate thermodynamic performance models and heat balances for steam turbine requisition (REQ) projects.

  • Use existing system modeling tools for design analysis, test data analysis and optimization including performance/cost trade-off studies.
  • Apply fundamental scientific and statistical principles to complex design problems within the broad field of steam turbine engineering.
  • Contribute to improving the organizational workflow and processes with the team and interfacing teams.
  • Collaborate with other multidisciplinary global engineering teams to insure successful project completion.
  • Issue documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Support technical project risks related to design and performance for steam turbines.
  • Communicate results, findings and observations in clear and concise documents (presentations, reports, memos, technical articles) to peers and or leadership in formal and/or informal design reviews.
