Job Description

Leads the Bank’s Payroll function and oversees the administration of payroll operations by designing processes and procedures; directing the collection, calculation and entering of data to ensure payroll processing occurs in an accurate and timely manner. Serves as a liaison for all immigration matters. Assists in reporting across the Total Rewards function.

Accountabilities:

Responsibilities/Duties/Function/Tasks:

  • Leads the auditing of payroll and associated tasks for each pay period.
  • Submits payroll for final processing.
  • Works with Service Delivery team to solve problem issues and manages escalated payroll, tax, and benefit issues.
  • Approves post-payroll activities including benefit payments.
  • Responsible for ensuring the payroll taxes are processed accurately and timely.
  • Provides backup and assistance in payroll processing, processing new hires, employee changes, and terminations. Works with the Finance team on all payroll accounting items including maintenance of general ledger (GL), reconciliation, and balancing activities.
  • Provides guidance to Payroll team to ensure daily operations are successfully achieved and in accordance with firm, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Administration of the Bank’s benefit and retirement plans including all required audits and compliance reporting.
  • Works closely with Total Rewards on plan design, reporting and compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Leads continuous improvement of core operations processes, providing innovative suggestions and solutions.
  • Provides end-user support, including researching and resolving HR system related issues.
  • Coordinates all immigration activities including administration, compliance and strategy.
  • Participates in human resources projects.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in human resources, accounting, business administration or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Payroll administration or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) of HR system administration, including experience with multiple modules of Workday HCM such as Compensation, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting strongly preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred
  • Experience with ADP strongly preferred
  • Experience with Payroll accounting activities strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations and compliance standards required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills required
  • Ability to work with a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to organize information, analyze data and solve problems
  • Proven experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; HRIS and Applicant Tracking systems
  • Financial services or banking industry experience preferred

Compensation Range:

Annual Salary: $81,481.00 - $96,758.00

This salary range represents the Bank’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This role is also eligible to participate in the Bank’s annual incentive plan.
