Job Description

  • Be part of a highly motivated, dynamic team of engineers working on delivery and application engineering of existing and new electronic applications, particularly for HVDC converters and the forthcoming “HVDC Grid”.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead management of component obsolescence and lead time management.
  • Implement and improve component lifecycle strategies.
  • Establish and manage supplier interfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders for long-term support of component obsolescence.
  • Support delivered, in-work, and future projects.
  • Apply engineering knowledge to solve problems, using technical skills and analytic thinking.
  • Propose different solutions outside set parameters, using judgment and guidance.
  • Share knowledge, apply different engineering methods, and demonstrate an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills.

Qualifications:

  • Electronic expertise at graduate level or equivalent experience.
  • Good technical understanding of digital, and where possible analogue, electronic design for an industrial control system.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of electronic components and principles.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of obsolescence management and lifecycle management principles.
  • Experience of value engineering is beneficial.
  • Ability to think innovatively and apply engineering knowledge.
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks, accessing multiple internal sources to arrive at decisions.
