Lead, Newbuild Strategy and Transformation

A key member of the Newbuild Strategy and Transformation team, responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategy and transformation initiatives related to the company’s newbuild portfolio. Reporting directly to the Director of Newbuild Strategy and Transformation, this role partners closely with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into structured plans, execution roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.

This role combines strategic problem solving, initiative ownership, and disciplined execution, with a strong emphasis on driving transformative initiatives, operational improvements, and cost optimization across the newbuild portfolio. The Lead supports senior leaders to frame complex issues, assess trade-offs, and advance targeted initiatives that improve effectiveness, governance, and delivery across large, cross-functional programs. Serving as a key contributor to the execution engine, the role establishes the structures, cadence, and insights required to translate strategy into
action while preserving leadership focus on critical decisions.

Positioned at the intersection of strategy and delivery, the Lead provides structured analytical support, drives day-to-day execution of initiatives, and contributes to leadership decision-making through clear synthesis of insights, risks, and dependencies. The role requires a self-starter and natural leader with strong quantitative and strategic qualities, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills and the maturity to interface confidently with senior executives in complex, ambiguous environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates a humble, self-aware style, with the ability to influence without authority, align diverse stakeholders, and guide teams toward
consensus-driven, practical solutions that translate strategy into sustained results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the delivery of priority newbuild strategy and transformation initiatives by
structuring workplans, analyzing issues, and translating strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and execution roadmaps.
  • Support senior leaders and cross-functional teams to assess trade-offs, develop
recommendations, and advance initiatives focused on operational improvement, cost discipline, and value realization.
  • Coordinate execution across cross-functional stakeholders, helping ensure alignment, clarity of ownership, and disciplined follow-through.
  • Provide executive-level decision support, synthesizing insights on progress, risks,
interdependencies, and implications to enable effective leadership oversight and timely decision-making.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, cost discipline, and value realization across the newbuild lifecycle, balancing short-term execution needs with longerterm structural improvements.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) a plus.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in strategy, corporate development, transformation,
    management consulting, or related roles
  • Experience supporting or leading discrete workstreams within complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in business case
development, performance analysis, and evaluation of operational and financial trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed, with a strong bias toward execution and delivery.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed (approximately 5–20%)
