To thrive in this role, we are looking for an engineer with Lead-level full-stack expertise in .NET and Angular, a track record of owning architecture and delivery end-to-end, and the confidence to work directly with a US client without waiting for fully defined tasks.

About the project: 

You will join the team modernising a large US e-commerce platform in the durable medical equipment (DME) and mobility products space. The platform is being migrated from a legacy Adobe ColdFusion system to an Angular storefront served by a .NET 8+ backend, and at the same time re-platformed from on-premises infrastructure to Azure. In parallel, the team designs and delivers a greenfield Order Management System (OMS) that will onboard franchise and corporate stores. The current production system is in maintenance while the frontend migration is roughly halfway through, so you will work across live production, migration, and greenfield work at the same time.

This is a role with maximum influence: you shape the target architecture, set the engineering standards, decide what legacy is removed and when, and work side by side with the client to turn unclear expectations into a realistic delivery plan. AI coding agents are part of the daily workflow, not an experiment.

Requirements

• Lead or strong Senior-level expertise in .NET full-stack development (.NET 8+, C#) and Angular (current LTS versions)
• Prior experience leading a comparable legacy-to-modern platform migration or cloud re-platforming initiative - ideally including moving off a legacy CMS/monolith stack, not just building greenfield.
• Hands-on experience with e-commerce or CMS platforms, including SEO and Google-related integrations and Angular SSR/prerendering and SEO preservation during SPA migrations.
• Practical Agentic / AI-augmented engineering at a working level: daily use of Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent for code generation, refactoring, code review, and rapid prototyping, plus familiarity with spec-driven or PRD-driven AI workflows (for example, BMAD-METHOD or Spec-Kit).
• Architectural ownership: demonstrated ability to set and evolve system architecture, make build-vs-remove-legacy calls, and justify trade-offs to both engineers and business stakeholders.
• Experience architecting background/asynchronous job processing (e.g., Hangfire or equivalent) across multiple deployment environments, including the operational trade-offs of running (or not running) job workers per slot/environment.
• Strong code-review and mentoring skills, with a track record of raising engineering standards across a team, not just your own output.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving production performance issues using APM/telemetry tooling (e.g., Application Insights or equivalent) - this role includes owning incident triage, not just steady-state development.
• Familiarity with third-party integration architecture (payment gateways, tax services, fraud/marketing platforms) and the judgment to know when a synchronous integration needs to move off the critical path.
• Ability to independently elicit and clarify requirements from a client and explain technical solutions to both engineering and business stakeholders
• Strong ownership and proactivity: you take responsibility for the outcome instead of waiting for a fully defined task
• English sufficient for direct day-to-day communication with US stakeholders
• At least 4 hours of daily overlap with New York time

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of the legacy ColdFusion e-commerce platform to an Angular storefront with a .NET 8+ backend
• Drive the re-platforming from on-premises to Azure: target architecture, landing zone, IaC, CI/CD, and cutover plan
• Triage production performance and reliability issues using telemetry (Application Insights or equivalent), turn findings into a prioritized, team-actionable fix plan, and track them through to resolution.
• Design and deliver the greenfield Order Management System and the follow-up engagement projects that onboard franchise and corporate stores
• Write production code on critical paths (auth, checkout, OMS core), lead spikes, and unblock the team - the Lead codes alongside everyone else
• Lead the client's ColdFusion engineers during the migration, in addition to your own team, coordinating cross-company technical direction, not just internal delivery.
• Define and enforce engineering standards: branching strategy, code review, testing pyramid, observability and security / PCI-DSS posture
• Manage technical risk and sequencing across concurrent workstreams - live production maintenance, in-flight migration, and greenfield OMS delivery - all competing for the same engineers' time.
• Run technical discovery and refinement sessions with the client, and present architectural options and trade-offs to engineering and business stakeholders
• Use AI coding agents to prototype concepts, validate integration approaches, and raise the delivery velocity of the whole team
• Mentor the .NET and Angular engineers and raise the bar on AI-augmented development practices across the team

Team: From our side: 1 PM, 1 BA, 2 front devs, 1 backend, 1 QA; From the client side: 1 .Net full-stack dev, 3 ColdFusion devs, BA

Schedule: full-time, remote, with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with New York time (the client day starts around 15:00 Kyiv time). Ukrainian public holidays are non-working days.
