Lead Morning Cook

Department: Dining Services

Compensation: $18.57 - $22.29 / hour

Description

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week | Morning shift 5am - 1:30pm | Varies Monday - Friday | Every other weekend

What You'll Do:

As a Lead Cook in our scratch kitchen, you'll have the opportunity to create wholesome, delicious meals that not only nourish but also bring joy to the hearts of older adults. You'll be the one behind the smiles, crafting food that connects and delights. Every meal you prepare will make a meaningful impact, helping our residents feel cared for, loved, and energized. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals.
  • Assist with food preparation and setup for special meals, parties, catering, and events.
  • Monitor meal service to ensure residents receive correct meals based on diet orders, preferences, and allergies.
  • Assist with onboarding, coaching, and training team members on department procedures, food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
  • Lead, inspect, correct, and report operational concerns to department management as appropriate.
  • Serve as designated manager on duty and assume authority, responsibility, and accountability in the absence of department management or the Chef.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Five (5) years short order cook experience in a restaurant, café, food service kitchen or other related environment, required.
  • Culinary Education, preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification, preferred.
  • Ability to participate in frequent stooping and bending, lifting up to 35 pounds.
