Lead Mold Remediation Technician
Join a veteran-owned Paul Davis Restoration serving South Jersey. As our mold remediation work continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced technician who can take ownership of mold remediation projects in the field and help us build this service into a dedicated part of our business.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on mold remediation experience who understands containment, negative air, HEPA filtration, demolition, cleaning, and detailed jobsite procedures.
You will work from an established remediation plan while taking responsibility for the day-to-day execution of the project, including leading technicians, maintaining containment, communicating with customers, documenting the work, and ensuring the job is performed safely and thoroughly.
For the right person, this position has the potential to grow alongside our mold department as the business expands.
What You’ll Do
· Take ownership of mold remediation projects after the inspection, scope, and remediation plan have been established
· Lead technicians and temporary labor during mold remediation projects
· Establish and maintain containment and critical barriers
· Set up negative air pressure and HEPA-filtered air filtration devices
· Perform and oversee removal of affected drywall, insulation, flooring, and other materials
· Perform HEPA vacuuming and detailed cleaning of structural surfaces
· Clean and treat affected areas according to company procedures and the established remediation plan
· Properly bag, contain, transport, and dispose of contaminated materials
· Maintain clean and contaminated work zones and prevent cross-contamination
· Use proper PPE and respiratory protection based on job conditions
· Maintain clean entry and exit procedures for containment areas
· Identify concealed conditions or changes in scope and communicate them to the Mitigation Lead before proceeding
· Take thorough before, during, and after photographs of remediation work
· Complete required job documentation and daily notes
· Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
· Communicate professionally with customers and explain the work being performed without making unsupported claims about mold type or health effects
· Maintain remediation equipment, HEPA vacuums, air filtration devices, tools, and supplies
· Ensure vehicles and mold remediation supplies remain clean, organized, and properly stocked
· Participate in other mitigation work when mold projects are not scheduled
What We’re Looking For
· Previous hands-on mold remediation experience strongly preferred
· Experience establishing containment and negative air environments
· Understanding of HEPA filtration, HEPA vacuuming, demolition, cleaning, and cross-contamination prevention
· Ability to independently manage the day-to-day execution of a mold remediation project
· Ability to lead and direct other technicians
· Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established remediation procedures
· Strong understanding of PPE and respiratory protection requirements
· Ability to recognize conditions outside the established scope and escalate them appropriately
· Professional communication skills with homeowners, property managers, and coworkers
· Strong documentation and jobsite organization habits
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work while wearing PPE
· Ability to work in crawlspaces, attics, containments, and other challenging environments
Preferred Qualifications
· IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) certification
· IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
· Previous lead technician or crew leadership experience
· Experience with residential and commercial mold remediation
· Experience working with third-party mold assessors, hygienists, or remediation protocols
· Familiarity with post-remediation verification and clearance procedures

As our mold remediation volume grows, we expect to develop a more specialized mold operation. A strong performer in this position will have the opportunity to help establish our field procedures, equipment standards, vehicle setup, technician training, quality-control practices, and overall approach to mold remediation.
The long-term opportunity may include advancement into a Mold Remediation Lead, Supervisor, or Department Lead role as the operation grows.
