
Emerson House is seeking a highly dependable and skilled Lead Medication Technician to guide our medication administration program. This role is a vital link between the nursing team, caregivers, and our residents, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe medication management while providing essential oversight and coaching to the Med Tech team.

You will be the on-shift expert, responsible for the integrity of the medication administration process and the quality of charting.
· Dispensing: Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as prescribed by physician orders and within the scope of practice.
· Safety: Strictly follow all state regulations, community policies, and infection control protocols related to medication storage, security, and administration.
· Documentation: Maintain precise, detailed, and up-to-date medication administration records (MARs) and resident charts.
· Ordering: Coordinate the ordering, receipt, and inventory of medications, liaising with pharmacies to ensure adequate supply and accuracy.
· Supervision: Provide day-to-day guidance and support to other Medication Technicians and Caregivers on proper medication procedures and documentation.
· Training: Assist the Nursing Manager or RN in training new staff on medication protocols and charting standards.
· Communication: Act as the primary on-shift communication point for clinical changes, promptly reporting any concerns, medication errors, or changes in resident condition to the Registered Nurse or Administrator.
· Audits: Participate in routine audits and organizational checks of the medication room and carts.
· Experience: Proven experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or equivalent role in a senior living or healthcare setting.
· Certification: Current state-specific Medication Technician/Aide certification is required.
· Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are essential.
· Leadership: Demonstrated dependability, accountability, and the ability to mentor and guide team members.
· Compassion: A genuine commitment to resident rights, safety, and providing dignified, person-centered care.
· Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check.
