Use comprehensive knowledge to accurately perform and evaluate highly complex laboratory testing in an efficient manner. Provide technical support and staff work direction for assigned department. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, teamwork, and provide excellent customer service. Support continuous quality improvement of laboratory services and provide feedback to staff on performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years progressive, successful experience in clinical laboratory medicine in the assigned discipline required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree OR alternate route of combined education and experience (including grandfathered recognition as regulated by the BOC) required.
  • ASCP or ASHI/ACHI certification within nine months of hire date required.
  • Individuals who were certified beginning January 1, 2004 maintaining their certification by participation in the ASCP ---Board of Certification (BOC) Certification Maintenance Program (ASCP)CM required.
  • Effective communication skills, initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biology, microbiology, virology, molecular biology, or other laboratory related science preferred.
  • Specialty certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency in assigned discipline preferred.
