Lead Medical Assistant (Austin Area)
Department: Clinical Support

The Medical Assistant Lead directly oversees a team of employees and creates a team environment with a culture of open communication by setting clear team and individual goals, delegating tasks and setting deadlines. The position will motivate team members, discover training needs and provide coaching as well as listen to feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts. They will share responsibility by performing all the duties outlined for the Medical Assistant and effectively manage and delegate daily tasks and responsibilities to Medical Assistants and front desk coordinators. They will practice precision everywhere, ensuring that the clinics operate properly, and deliver a memorable experience through exceptional patient care. They will exemplify integrity in everything that they do, always doing what is best for our team and our patients.

Clinic Schedule & Hours:
Monday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Lakeway)
Tuesday, 7:30am-4:30pm (Westlake)
Wednesday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Westlake)
Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm (Lakeway)
Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm (To be determined)
Essential Functions

- Perform all duties required of a Medical Assistant when not directly engaged with leadership support
- Oversee daily workflow in assigned clinic/s.
- Review all weekly/daily and monthly spreadsheets for accuracy and completion.
- Annual QA evaluations on MA’s
- Annual Site Visits for each clinic in your region
- Help improve phone metrics to 90% or above call compliance
- Review voicemails are completed by the end of each day
- Able to delegate required daily tasks ensuring all are completed.

- Instill a culture of open communication and motivation to drive a positive morale
- Ensure employee appreciation is planned and carried out each quarter
- Provide timely and consistent communication on changes and updates for the clinic, market, front desk and clinical staff
- Monthly Inventory QC
- Compare physical count to Surgicare stock levels.
- Identify any areas of improvement if consistent inventory miscounts. Clinic inventory compliance added to the dashboard and shared with staff.
- Communicate and train protocol/process changes with assigned staff
- Evaluate and follow up with staff weekly on completion of the Front Desk Retention Log
- Distribute Weekly Call Performance and Monthly Management meeting Notes provided by VP of Operations/Clinical Manager
- Field all staff questions related to both Front and Back Office
- Identify and carry out additional training opportunities for existing staff
- Coordinate with Clinical Manager on weekly staffing
- Review clinic schedules weekly to determine scheduling accuracy
- Communicate with Scheduling Manager/Director with inaccurate scheduling for process improvement
- Work with front desk to move patients into accurate slots to ensure the clinic is maximizing their template for optimal performance
- Perform work according to company policies, procedures, and standards
- Follows all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality or patient information.
- Adheres to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines.
- Willingly and effectively perform other duties including standard MA, front desk and ENT roles.
Note The duties outlined above are in addition to all clinical medical assistant and front office responsibilities

- Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics
Required education and experience
- Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred education and experience
- Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
- 1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
- 1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
- Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
- Current CPR Certification
