Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join its Brownfield Engineering business focusing on providing day to day Mechanical Engineering leadership support for site operations related queries, activities, and risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. Wood excels in supporting our clients to deliver on complex brownfield oil and gas decommissioning projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Manager
- Ensures that asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe
- Monitors Mechanical Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary
- Provides Mechanical Engineering leadership to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs)
- Identifies vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support forecast and growth
- Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs)
- Provides static Mechanical Engineering coaching to Wood and client engineers
- Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering subject
- Professional accreditation – Professional Engineer
- Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering leadership and support role
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks
- Sound stakeholder management experience
