A Day in the Life

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will collaborate with the broader Medical Devices engineering teams in the US. You will enable design & development of medical devices/products and the associated infrastructure & capability building elements in close conjunction with the Global teams.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • You will be able to manage a project / process with an ability to achieve the excellence on promised deliverable.
  • Well experienced in working with global counterparts and have a proven record of elevating the business engagement to further heights.
  • Capable of mentoring /coaching the young engineers by offering technical and interpersonal insights.
  • Hands on experience in resolving conflicts with confidence in a team and cross functional group level.
  • Capable of reviewing the peers’ work and establishing the measuring mechanism to demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of all the phases of product development and its corresponding deliverables.
  • Good exposure on R&D deliverables – Concepts, Drawings and Analytical work.
  • Responsible for supporting the Product Development and sustenance Team with application of design engineering to new product design.
  • Should perform conversion of AutoCAD, Solidworks drawing to 3D Models in Creo as per Medical Device standards.
  • Should create 3D CAD Models using Creo either from scratch or able to edit the complex models
  • Strong Understanding of medical device standards, guidelines and regulations per ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and Design controls (21 CFR Part 820).

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Mush have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred Master’s degree
  • Must have 10 to 15 years of design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks & Creo-3D Modeling, drawing as per ASME Standards.
  • Proven record of managing, leading colleagues, peers.
  • Excellent Communications – Written and Verbal

  • Medical Device Experience
  • GD&T Certification
  • Cetol
  • ANSYS or any equivalent Prediction Software
