Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Equipment Technician to spearhead the maintenance and repair operations for a diverse fleet of vehicles and specialized equipment. This pivotal role demands a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, coupled with exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. The Lead Equipment Technician will serve as the primary technical expert, ensuring all equipment is operating at peak performance, safety, and reliability. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Shops, this position also involves providing technical guidance to the team, optimizing repair workflows, and maintaining comprehensive service records. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and results-oriented individual to make a significant impact on our operational efficiency.
QualificationsPrimary Responsibilities
- Expert Diagnostics and Repair: Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and comprehensive repairs on a diverse fleet of mobile equipment, including light automotive and industrial vehicles, addressing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Component-Level Service: Execute the disassembly, reassembly, and repair of intricate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, ensuring equipment is restored to optimal functionality.
- Technical Leadership and Guidance: Serve as a primary technical resource for the maintenance team, providing expert guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Adherence to Safety and Procedures: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and meticulously follow technical manuals, schematics, and testing procedures to ensure safe and effective repairs.
- Accurate Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities using designated systems, contributing to efficient tracking and analysis.
- Workflow Optimization and Collaboration: Assist in the development and improvement of maintenance schedules and repair processes, actively participating in team meetings to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintenance of Work Environment: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment is always maintained.
Bonus Points For:
- Supplying basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Welding/Fabrication experience
- Specific experience with CUE’s Sewer Camera Inspection Equipment & Water Valve Maintenance Trailers & Equipment.
- Relevant certifications or technical training.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity
Job
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; ASE Certification preferred
- 5 years of experience in industrial & mechanical repair preferred
- Experience performing component-level troubleshooting and repair and/or related hardware/systems
- Experience working with drawings/schematics/documentation
- General computer system/database navigation experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to view and enter information via computer keyboard and monitor.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment
Pay:
- $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience
