Job Description

Lead Market Access Manager

Shape the future of patient access across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you'll drive strategic market access initiatives that directly influence how millions of patients access innovative treatments for serious chronic diseases across the Oceania region.

Your new role

As Lead Market Access Manager, you'll be instrumental in maximising access to Novo Nordisk medicines across the Oceania affiliates, working at the intersection of commercial strategy, health economics, and patient outcomes. You'll review, support, and optimise products throughout their lifecycle to ensure our innovative treatments reach the patients who need them most.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing market access strategies aligned with Oceania affiliate business objectives across multiple therapy areas
  • Leading pricing and reimbursement initiatives with key stakeholders including government bodies, payers, and healthcare decision-makers
  • Conducting health economic assessments and generating evidence to support product value propositions
  • Managing product lifecycle optimization from pre-launch through to maturity, identifying opportunities to enhance access
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, including health technology assessment bodies and advisory committees
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with commercial, medical affairs, and regulatory teams to ensure cohesive access strategies
  • Monitoring the evolving healthcare landscape across Australia and New Zealand to anticipate and respond to market access challenges

Your new department

Within this dynamic environment, the Market Access, Public Affairs & Sustainability team plays a critical role in translating our innovative pipeline into real-world patient impact. Working across the Oceania region, we navigate complex healthcare systems to ensure patients have timely access to our medicines. Your leadership will be essential as we expand our therapeutic focus and bring new treatment options to patients living with diabetes, obesity, and other serious chronic diseases.

Your skills & qualifications

We're seeking an experienced market access professional who thrives on strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in health economics, pharmacy, public health, business, or life sciences; advanced degree desirable
  • Extensive experience in market access, health economics, pricing, or reimbursement within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, ideally with knowledge of Australian and New Zealand healthcare systems
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful market access strategies that have demonstrably improved patient access to medicines
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in health economic modelling, budget impact analysis, or evidence generation
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build credibility with payers, clinicians, and government decision-makers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Strategic mindset combined with pragmatic execution skills and comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments
