Possesses the knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology department. Activities are specifically directed by the manager. Performs a wide variety of specific and specialized duties and procedures on hospital inpatients and outpatients as indicated by physician orders in Mammography/Breast Imaging. Performs these duties using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility and quality of work in designated areas of procedures as required. This position requires a high level of technical and informatics knowledge and skill, and the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses, and other technical staff. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands and to seek managerial assistance as appropriate.
The Mammography Technologist-Lead provides day-to-day supervision of operational flow and will delegate tasks as needed. The Lead will act as a technical resource to both radiographers and radiologists. Responsible for maintaining stock and ordering all supplies. With the Breast Imaging Manager (or in absence of) oversees quality control of all breast imaging equipment per MQSA and DPH guidelines along with all breast imaging ACR accreditations. In the absence of the Breast Imaging Manager, is responsible for making decisions based on established protocols that would ensure continuity of patient care.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Lifting of patients on and off x-ray table is required. Lifts 10-20 lbs. daily. Requires wearing lead aprons. Requires being in front of computers for several hours a day. May be exposed to occupational levels of diagnostic ionizing radiation and occasionally to hazardous chemicals (developer/fixer).
Pay Range:
$50.60 - $75.19
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
