Work Shift

Day (United States of America)
This is a multi-task lead position responsible for maintenance and inspection of critical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, controls (Metasys), air quality filtration, and patient calls in all AU Health buildings. Completes assigned projects along with normal maintenance jobs. Assists in the development and training of Maintenance Technicians. Performs in a lead role on assigned projects. Provides excellent customer serivce to all patients, families, and staff with each repair.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Performs refrigeration systems maintenance tasks: inspects refrigeration units for leaks and repairs as required; checks for proper operation of all refrigeration units throughout AU Health facilities; installs refrigeration units and service as needed; maintains recordkeeping of refrigerants i.e. storage, disposal, and safe handling; thorough knowledge of gauges and associated tools of the trade. Meets all State of Georgia Regulatory Codes in relation to refrigeration systems.
Performs Air Handler Tasks: understands basic operation of air handlers and their components; troubleshoots and maintains air handlers; performs preventive maintenance task on air handlers.
Maintains and completes required paperwork: maintains a daily log of work required and completed; submits all completed paperwork to manager of Customer Service Center; completes routine and preventive maintenance work orders by due dates.
Compliance with Customer Service Standards: promotes customer satisfaction; courteous and professional at all times; keeps customers well informed of problems and situations; maintains a positive attitude in difficult situations.
Performs pump and compressor systems maintenance task: inspects compressors and pump systems for leaks and repairs as required; takes part in daily rounds of mechanical areas; ensures all compressor and pumping equipment is functional.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma General or GED General


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • GADL - Georgia Driver's License or VSDL - Valid State Driver's License

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):


State of Georgia Warm Air Card Upon Hire Preferred


Required Minimum Experience:


Minimum 3 years HVAC Required and

Must demonstrate thorough performance and knowledge of basic HVAC, refrigeration, and controls functions
