Asbury Village is recruiting for a hospitality focused Maintenance Technician to join our team!
The primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to service and maintain the physical properties and mechanical systems of the Village.
The Technician must have a broad range of skills and knowledge to address a variety of “handyman” maintenance issues that arise including household appliances, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, as well as the skill to deal with basic HVAC systems and equipment. This position requires a good mechanical aptitude.
Technicians also assist with snow removal as needed, and various special assignments/activities associated with special Village events and promotions (table and equipment set-up, putting up holiday banners, holiday decorating, etc.). The Maintenance Technician position requires that you will be flexible on an On Call basis to meet emergency needs that may occur outside regular hours. The Technician will have a means of contact (home telephone or Village provided pager) when On Call. The Technician will work in areas occupied by residents, staff, and guests.
Essential Functions
Working Conditions: Job responsibilities require heavy physical exertion, including continuous walking, standing, bending, reaching and pushing/pulling, and the frequent lifting and carrying of heavy (26 to 60 pounds) to very heavy (61 to 100 pounds) loads. Job responsibilities may require frequent exposure to uncomfortable temperature levels, variable lighting, above-average noise levels, and/or unpleasant/irritating substances. Exposure to hazardous and/or potentially injurious elements or conditions is moderate.
