Job Description

As TPM and Preventive Maintenance Leader you will manage plant equipment reliability, drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars, and eliminate downtime. You will direct autonomous and planned maintenance, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), coach staff, and optimize computerized maintenance systems (CMMS) to ensure safe, peak plant performance.
Install, maintain, and repair internal factory equipment. Supervise employees who perform maintenance and tool making. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • TPM Implementation: Lead the core pillars of TPM, focusing heavily on Autonomous Maintenance (operator-led care) and Planned Maintenance systems.
  • Preventive Strategy: Build, schedule, and refine routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance protocols using a CMMS platform.
  • Downtime & Loss Reduction: Track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), investigate root causes of machine failures, and execute continuous improvement projects.
  • Team Coaching: Train operators and maintenance technicians on basic machine upkeep, troubleshooting, and reliability methodologies.
  • Compliance & Safety: Enforce workplace safety rules, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure that equipment and tools are in good condition for use. Propose plans for preventive maintenance and corrective action.
  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on plant experience).
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years of industrial manufacturing experience, with explicit background in Lean, TPM deployment, and equipment reliability.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mastery of CMMS/EAM software (such as SAP PM or Maximo), root cause analysis (RCA), and reading technical schematics.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, cross-functional communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.
