Job Description

TITLE: Lead Maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Effective organizational/leadership skills
  2. Meets established deadlines
  3. Currently employed as a Skilled Craftsman in the LFSD

REPORTS TO: Buildings and Grounds Supervisor

JOB GOAL: The Lead Maintenance employee plays an active role in leading and supporting the maintenance operations of the LFSD by assisting with the coordination of daily maintenance needs, work assignments, and District facility priorities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides direction and support to Maintenance employees for District maintenance needs in the absence of the Building and Grounds Supervisor
  2. Assists with the coordination and prioritization of maintenance work requests and daily assignments
  3. Communicates maintenance needs, concerns, and the status of work requests to the Building and Grounds Supervisor
  4. Assists in coordinating District maintenance needs requiring timely or emergency response
  5. Supports the organization and accountability of maintenance equipment, tools, materials, and supplies
  6. Assists with identifying maintenance needs and recommending resources, materials, or equipment necessary to address those needs.
  7. Promotes compliance with District procedures and applicable safety practices during maintenance operations.
  8. Refers personnel matters, employee concerns, and matters requiring supervisory action to the Building and Grounds Supervisor.
  9. Performs other Lead Maintenance responsibilities as assigned by the Building and Grounds Supervisor consistent with the scope of the EPER position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Available to respond to maintenance issues and emergencies outside of the regular work day.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms are in accordance with provisions of the Negotiate Agreement on EPER employment.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Negotiated Agreement on EPER evaluations.
