TITLE: Lead Mailroom Courier/Distributor
REPORTS TO: Mailroom/Warehouse Supervisor
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week; full-time. Generally 7:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one hour lunch, with an occasional Saturday hours. Schedule may vary according to Academy needs. * This position is considered Essential Personnel.
Wage: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour. Wage based on relevant experience and/or education.

Position Purpose
Supports the mission of the Mailroom and Central Receiving Warehouse by providing high quality, customer-oriented mail services ensuring mail, delivered packages, and inventory moves efficiently and cost-effectively throughout the Phillips Exeter Academy’s Campus.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of the day-to-day work associated with the mailroom.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty and staff requiring assistance with mail and package deliveries and. inquiries.
- Transact via ERP systems, receipts for packages delivered to the mailroom and warehouse locations.
- Process postage sale transactions with the mail meter machine and cash/charge drawer and run necessary financial reports.
- Responsible for readdressing mail with insufficient or incorrect addresses and forwarding all undeliverable mail to the U.S. Post Office.
- Manage the process to forward mail for 6 months to faculty no longer employed by the Academy.
- Operate the academy mail van as back up support for scheduled courier runs.
- Query Academy’s databases for up-to-date student enrollment, faculty and staff employee changes, and accurate mail distribution of faculty family members residing on campus.
- Administrator for online delivery/shipping programs.
- Perform as supervisor in absence of Mailroom/Warehouse Supervisor.
- Support Supervisor with drafting and updating department procedures.
- Train mailroom employees on daily functions, including all mailroom and warehouse technology.
- Act as liaison between the Academy and the U.S. Post Office and maintain current knowledge of U.S. Postal and other delivery service regulations.
- Perform warehouse related activities including receiving, issuance, and delivery of inventory items.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Some college experience is helpful.
Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- 2 years’ experience in mailroom or warehouse operations preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Oracle experience is desirable.
- Technology related to inventory management or work order systems experience is preferred.
- Experience in an institutional or campus setting
Physical Requirements
- Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work and individuals must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Ability to withstand exposure to inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, freezing temperatures, etc.).
Additional Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
- Clean Driving record (reviewed annually.
