The Lead Magnet Engineer position will be responsible for providing electro-magnetic design leadership for MRI magnet projects. This engineer leads and participates in the engineering efforts for the magnet projects to ensure that the necessary program deliverables are adhering to plan. This role requires cross functional interaction with Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality team members to ensure the quality goals set forth by the business are met.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead electro-magnetic design, field support and verification efforts, including compliance and standards testing and system compatibility verification to meet the requirements of MRI products
Work with suppliers and engineering team members to develop design alternatives to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
Establish and maintain performance, quality, vitality, and reliability for the MRI products
Provide project leadership for electro-magnetic design activities within assigned programs, including estimating schedule and resource requirements, product cost, requirements development, status reports, etc.
Take on project leadership responsibilities as needed to support the Lead Program Integrator or Program Manager on the assigned projects
Required Qualifications
Desired Characteristics
Experience in superconducting magnet & cryogenics
5+ years of experience in project design within a manufacturing, development, or research environment.
Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues
Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating, and driving closure of project tasks
Attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments
Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex products
Strong decision-making skills
Able to simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information, and communicate priorities clearly and concisely.
Proven ability to interact with global team members.
Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes.
Previous experience working with medical devices
