Job Description

We are seeking experienced Lead Low Voltage Technicians to support commercial structured cabling and security projects throughout the Charlotte and Charleston markets. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work alongside your crew while overseeing daily jobsite operations, installation quality, customer communication, and project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor field technicians while actively performing installations
  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6/Cat6A copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Support access control, CCTV, and other electronic security system installations
  • Review blueprints, floor plans, rack elevations, and project drawings
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform copper certification and fiber testing, including troubleshooting deficiencies
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project teams
  • Maintain project documentation, testing records, progress updates, and as-built drawings
  • Promote a safe, productive, and quality-focused jobsite culture
  • Travel locally and regionally based on project needs

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of low voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, or security installation experience
  • Previous experience leading crews or serving as the primary field contact on projects
  • Strong knowledge of copper and fiber installation standards, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications
  • Experience with cable pathways, racks, cabinets, cable management systems, and related infrastructure
  • Comfortable interacting directly with customers and coordinating field activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with access control, surveillance systems, card readers, electric strikes, and magnetic locks
  • Familiarity with OTDR, OLTS, and copper certification testing equipment
  • Knowledge of J-hooks, cable tray, sleeves, conduit, and firestopping
  • BICSI, OSHA 10/30, manufacturer certifications, or lift certifications
  • Experience using Fieldwire, ConnectWise, or similar project management tools

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
