Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, LEAD Janitorial Cleaner to lead daily cleaning operations while working alongside the team to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment. This hands-on leadership role includes assigning daily tasks, coaching team members, conducting quality inspections, ensuring safety and company standards are met, and serving as a liaison between staff and management. The ideal candidate has at least two years of commercial cleaning experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to safely operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment. Experience training employees, coordinating daily operations, and delivering exceptional service is preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrate team leader behaviors such as planning, assigning, and overseeing work of shift
  • Provide keys to each assignment and obtain keys at end of each shift. Ensure keys are stored and locked away correctly
  • Provide 2 Way Radios and any other applicable tools or equipment required, to shift employees, as needed.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of the specifications in each assignment
  • Relay details to the shift group or individuals in the group, such as focus tasks for the day or week, training notices and due dates, along with any other organizational changes, updates, or notices.
  • Able to communicate changes in operational specifications whether for the day, the week or until further notice
  • Peer coaching in areas of opportunity for improvement in general areas such as operational, time and attendance and professional aspects
  • Demonstrates leadership ability in using, maintaining and cleaning various commonly used cleaning industries machines as well as ongoing interest in learning about and training on such machines, if no prior experience
  • Ensure shop is maintained, orderly, stock is put away correctly, laundry is completed/organized
  • Observe and communicate areas for improvement directly to employees
  • Identify training opportunities of shift employees to develop the employee’s skills
  • Lead trainings through coordination with manager
  • Directly assign specific tasks to employees in a clear, concise manner, ensuring expectations, importance, and timelines are understood between employee and lead.
  • Lead the group in projects, PPE requirements, set up, clean up and site-specific safety precautions
  • Execute and lead key areas of opportunities for the shift throughout the week resulting in all specifications being completed daily and weekly according to protocol
  • Coordination between managers and peer leads on focus projects
  • Thorough understanding of CBA, company protocols and policies, and site-specific requirements for meeting contractual responsibilities and scopes of work
  • Must possess a professional work attitude towards everyone they interact with on site, including, peers, managers, clients and guests
  • Must complete daily and/or weekly walk-throughs in each assignment area and report any discrepancies to manager and/or peer assigned to area for quality improvement
  • Ability to motivate team to accomplish all tasks and specifications.
  • Dedicated to creating a positive and safe work environment and building team morale for all team members
  • Assist peers in areas when needed
  • Carry out special client requests /work orders

  • Pay rate $19.81 - $23.81 per hour
  • Hours: 40 hours per week/ 5 days a week
    Saturday to Wednesday; 2PM-1030PM
