Job Description

As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.

Under the direction of the Tram & Facilities Maintenance Manager, takes lead role in cleaning tramway properties by assigning and checking the work of janitorial staff in addition to performing the full range of janitorial duties.

We're excited to share that the job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska! We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense.

Pay and Benefits:

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.

Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value.

Starting Rate: $22.00 - DOE

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Able to communicate verbally and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance daily.
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.
  • Some knowledge of basic cleaning principles, equipment, and products.
  • Detail oriented.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills)

  • Six (6) months janitorial experience.
  • CPR Certificate or First Aid training or ability obtain within 30 days.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

  • On a daily or shift basis, collaborates with janitorial staff to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates work assignments to janitorial staff.
  • Informs manager of safety issues and areas that need to be addressed as it pertains to keeping the tramway at a high level of cleanliness.
  • Assists with setting the janitor weekly schedule.
  • Checks inventory of supplies on a weekly basis.
  • Collects and disposes of trash and recycling from all areas of the tramway, terminals, and grounds.
  • Cleans windows in the lower and upper terminal areas, including tramway offices, cabins, viewing areas, restaurant, and lobby space.
  • Dusts, wipes down, and sanitizes working and customer space, counters, equipment, fixtures, etc. of restrooms, kitchen and restaurant areas, elevators, lobby space and the like.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, and mops all floor space, as needed, to keep in prime shape.
  • Aids other staff and departments, when requested or necessary.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
