We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead (IC4) for Monitoring Tools to drive the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of enterprise monitoring and observability solutions across IT landscape. This role requires hands-on expertise in monitoring platforms along with the ability to define and scale observability strategies aligned to business-critical services.

As an IC4, you will provide strong technical leadership while remaining hands-on, acting as a subject matter expert in monitoring technologies and leading technical initiatives. You will be responsible for enabling proactive issue detection, improving system reliability and performance, and driving automation and optimization across monitoring frameworks.

The role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams, translating technical insights into business impact, and championing best practices in monitoring, observability, and operational excellence to deliver scalable and resilient solution

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement monitoring strategies, alerting frameworks, and observability standards.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise monitoring solutions.
  • Drive proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and network teams to ensure end-to-end visibility.
  • Work effectively as a team player, contributing to shared goals and supporting cross-team initiatives.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Integrate monitoring tools with ITSM platforms for incident and event management automation.
  • Lead tool migration, upgrade, and consolidation initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for real-time insights and decision-making.
  • Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Participate in major incident management and collaborate during critical situations.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10 –14+ years of IT experience
  • Minimum 5+ years in monitoring tools and observability platforms

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with the following tools; relevant certifications preferred
  • SolarWinds (NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM)
  • Dynatrace (APM, observability)
  • Splunk SignalFx
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Foglight
  • SAP PowerConnect
  • Strong knowledge of APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, and Observability (MELT: Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces)
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, cloud platforms, and scripting (Python/PowerShell)

Good to Have

  • Exposure to cloud-native monitoring (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, GCP)
  • Knowledge of container and microservices monitoring (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenTelemetry)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience in automation frameworks and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience in log analytics platforms (Splunk Enterprise)
  • Prior involvement in digital transformation or monitoring tool consolidation initiatives
  • Understanding of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles (SLI, SLO, error budgets)
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices (beyond basics, lifecycle understanding)
  • Understanding of eCommerce application architecture, including:
  • Frontend, backend, and middleware components
  • Customer journey monitoring (browse → cart → checkout → payment)
  • Awareness of business transaction monitoring and its impact on user experience
