About Houston-Galveston Area Council 

The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.

What will I be doing?  

The information technology auditor will conduct audits and review controls over H-GAC information technology and cybersecurity. In addition, ensuring that operations and documentation are consistent with NIST framework and the Texas Cybersecurity Framework as well as helping management implement best practices in information technology. The position will also support and train other internal audit staff in using information technology as an auditing tool.

Key Qualifications

üDegree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, or similar.

üWritten and verbal communication skills to interact with H-GAC management and staff.

Do you have… 

üBachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study  

ü5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties 

Preferred qualifications

üCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
