Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Management and oversight of the work of the Instructors assigned to each respective task order.

· Provide to KO and COR monthly planned contractor work schedules to include associated travel in support of training requirements and planned Paid Time Off (PTO).

· Assist in the facilitation and management of BTC active duty and contracted personnel requirements within the 1.) High Risk Safety and Training Program 2.) Instructor Training Record Program 3.) Instructor Qualification, Certification and Sustainment Programs.

· Assist in the facilitation and management of BTC training areas and ranges.

· Attends and facilitates weekly Planning Board for Training (PB4T) coordination meetings at NSWBTC

· Maintains active accounts for scheduling Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado Beach and Bay training areas via the Data Collection and Scheduling Tool (DCAST) account required and to be facilitated by the BTC.

· Assists as a Board member for BTC Candidate Review Boards for trainees and makes recommendations directly to the BTC Operations, Training leadership on issues of selection, selection criteria, safety, progression, remediation, and candidate retention.

· Administer physical and mental development training to students by providing instruction in the areas of diving, weapons, demolitions, and small unit tactics.

o Lead physical training evolutions to develop discipline and endurance lasting up to one hour consisting of upper and lower body calisthenics.

o Provide guidance to the Government in the student remediation processes to rehabilitate performance deficiencies in the areas of running, swimming, and the obstacle course, or other areas as necessary.

· Curriculum Development:

o Assist the Government in development of curriculum and training materials related to the scope of training topics.

o In conjunction with BTC’s Phase leadership, Instructors shall accomplish Instructor and curriculum development objectives; to include reviewing and creating evolution guidelines, preparing and conducting operational risk management, evaluating classroom instruction, and reviewing Instructor Training Records (ITRs).

o Assist with the design of new courses or update existing courses which develop basic physical proficiency in core skills.

o Have the ability to recognize and address student-learning problems, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and plan and organize work.

o Possess proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook).

· Training Safety Duties:

o Qualify as a High-Risk Safety and Training Instructor in accordance with OPNAV, NSW and BTC/ATC High Risk Safety and Training instruction and policy.

o Qualify within BTC/ATC Phase/Division specific Course Unique Instructor Training (CUIT) and Evolution Lead Instructor (ELI) requirements.

o Adhere to all NSW Policy, Instruction and guidance which pertain to evolution guidelines in the conduct of various training evolutions.

· Training Phase Administrative Functions:

o Perform administrative functions of the assigned phase. This includes, but is not limited to:

o Access Personal Identification Information (PII) and potentially Personal Health Information (PHI) subject to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA) requirements and safeguard it accordingly.

o Track student performance as they progress through the SEAL/SWCC training pipeline.

o Record student performance, testing and other course metrics within the NSW Individual Training and Readiness Management (ITRMS) database.

o Coordinate with the Phase/Division leadership in order to identify trends to improve individual student or class performance within training pipeline.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

· Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

· Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum eight (8) years of NSW SEAL or SWCC Operator experience.

· Meet qualification standards as a Water Rescue Craft Operator as outlined in NAVSPECWARCENINST 3500.4. Applicable training to meet Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) to be provided by the Government to the assigned Instructor.

· Experience for qualifications must be in the last 20 years.

· Attend and complete High Risk Instructor Training Course provided by the government

· At a minimum, be able to qualify as an ATV operator and shall be capable of performing duties therein

· CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid qualified

· Possess a current and valid US driver's license and be able to operate government vehicles

· Possess or ability to obtain SECRET Clearance

· Shall be required to perform physical testing in accordance with established guidelines set forth in OPNAVINST Physical Readiness Program.

· Instructors are required to meet minimum PST standards and maintain a sufficient fitness level to pass on a yearly basis.

· This position requires the ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors. Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.

Work Environment

This position supports Naval Special Warfare training in austere or remote environments, often. Instructors are typically embedded with the training element for the duration of the evolution rather than commuting daily. This position requires working indoors and outdoors in a variety of settings. Must be able to maintain health in hot and cold conditions with exposure to the elements.

Physical Setting: The training area may include remote training areas that are utilized several days in a row for each training iteration including firearms ranges.

Schedule and Flexibility: The schedule varies based on training needs and may include several long days consecutively. Daily schedules are mission-driven, not clock-driven and may extend late depending on several factors.

Other Pertinent Work Details:

•As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
