Job Description

Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

  • Serve as theinspection technical expertfor STAC

  • Interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and engineering requirements (GD&T, special characteristics, critical features)

  • Define and validate inspection methods, plans, and acceptance criteria

  • Lead inspections of components, assemblies, and test hardware to ensure compliance with engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements

  • Support first article inspection (FAI) and qualification activities

  • Analyze nonconformances and drive effective root cause and corrective actions

  • Develop and improve inspection processes and standard work (e.g., CMM, visual, dimensional, NDE/NDT as applicable)

  • Partner with Metrology, Quality, and Engineering to define gaging, fixturing, and measurement strategies

  • Support calibration and verification of inspection equipment as required

  • Identify and leadcontinuous improvementprojects to reduce defects, rework, and cycle time

  • Contribute to lean and digital initiatives to improve inspection flow and data quality

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams to address inspection and quality concerns

  • Support customer, regulatory, or internal audits and reviews

  • Provide guidance and training to inspectors and technicians

  • Ensure inspection records, reports, and documentation meet internal and external requirements

  • Support configuration control and traceability for inspected hardware

  • Comply with all EHS, regulatory, and company policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree inMechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or related technical field orHSD/GED with 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • Significant experience ininspection, quality, or manufacturing engineering in an aerospace or similarly regulated industry
  • Proficiency withinspection tools and methods (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM, optical systems; NDT/NDE where applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity withAS9100, customer/regulatory requirements, and audit readiness
  • Experience withdigital inspection systems, data analysis, and reporting
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching inspectors/technicians
  • Proven track record ofcontinuous improvementand lean implementation Established project management skills
