Job Description

The Lead Clinical Supervisor oversees and supervises clinicians and assigned department support staff. In addition, the Lead Clinical Supervisor takes part in and supports staff in the clinical assessments process. Core responsibilities include clinical and administrative supervision of Behavioral Health staff, assistance with program development and implementation, attendance at meetings within and outside the agency, help managing day-to-day functions, active collaboration with other departments, and other duties as assigned and needed. This position is required to carry a caseload.

Essential Duties:

• Performs all therapist related duties.

• Provide individual and group supervision to behavioral health staff to ensure that quality therapeutic and case management services are delivered, and service hours are met.

• Review caseload assignment with supervisees on a weekly basis to assign and maintain full caseloads.

• Proactively evaluate individual and overall team performance on a regular and ongoing basis;

• Uses collected data and information to make needed improvements, including adjustments as needed to behavioral health staff caseloads and work assignments to maximize quality of care and staff productivity.

• Review electric case records and documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of mental health services provided including application of proper techniques and appropriateness of therapeutic modalities

• Provide on-going training to ensure quality clinical documentation

• Effectively communicate program, administrative, and clinical expectations and policies/procedures to supervisees

• Ensures compliance with state and federal mandates.

• Provide effective case consultations to increase quality of care

• With support from the Director of Clinical Services, implement new hire onboarding and training.

• Support staff development through the creation of an annual plan including staff trainings to ensure quality and effective therapeutic service delivery

• In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services, conduct annual performance reviews; proactively identify and develop plans for areas of improvement on an ongoing basis

• Consult with Supervisor and HR concerning employee and work problems.

• Keep abreast of best practices in provision of community mental health

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to include a psychosocial diagnostic assessment addressing numerous life domains utilizing interviews, collateral contacts, available clinical records, observations, and verified screening tools that support best practices.

• Participate and provide input on service and program improvements during Behavioral Health Program Leadership Meetings

• On a bi-weekly basis, responsible for weekend AOC and respond to calls or texts

• Performs related duties, as requested.

• Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.

Requirements

Education and/or Licensure – Master’s degree in social work or equivalent in a recognized mental health field. Texas Licensed LCSW, LPC, LMFT, required.

Experience – Year experience in inpatient setting preferred; skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice. Knowledge of acute psychological disorders; advanced principals of abnormal psychology as specifically applied to adults; familiarity with follow-up resource service available; skills in conducting family group therapy. Proven leadership abilities.

Additional Requirements – Must obtain and maintain approved CPR certification and Management of Assaultive Behavior training including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assuming patient care responsibility
