Lead Industrial Engineer
What you will do
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Lead Industrial Engineer to manage large-scale, complex initiatives within our logistics, warehouse, and infrastructure operations. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and cross-functional integration across multiple business units, with a strong focus on warehouse automation and sortation systems.
The Lead Engineer will oversee project planning, execution, governance, and stakeholder engagement while driving timelines, managing risks, and resolving issues proactively. This position requires strong collaboration with Operations, Engineering, IT, Finance, automation vendors, and external partners, as well as frequent communication and presentations to senior and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale, complex projects within logistics, warehouse operations, engineering, or infrastructure environments, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Design, implement, or optimize warehouse sortation systems, including conveyor systems, automated sorters, scanning systems, WMS/WCS integration, and related automation technologies.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including milestones, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
- Coordinate and align cross-functional teams across Operations, Engineering, IT, Finance, automation vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Drive project timelines proactively, identify potential risks and bottlenecks (especially within automation and system integration), and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Establish structured reporting mechanisms and provide regular updates, dashboards, and executive-level presentations to senior leadership.
- Perform impact assessments and evaluate operational throughput, capacity planning, financial implications, and resource requirements of sortation and infrastructure initiatives.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to resolve complex operational and system integration challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
- Ensure disciplined project governance, documentation, and progress tracking in accordance with PMO standards.
You Will Be a Great Fit If
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 7–9 years of experience managing large-scale, complex projects in logistics, warehouse automation, engineering, infrastructure, or operations-driven environments.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse sortation systems, including automated conveyors, cross-belt sorters, tilt-tray sorters, scanning technologies, and WMS/WCS system integration.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, throughput optimization, capacity modeling, and automation deployment.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
- Strong expertise in project governance, risk management, and structured progress reporting.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills, with experience engaging senior and executive leadership.
