Job Description

Under the supervision of the Radiology Support Supervisor, Director of Radiology, Chairman or Manager, provides clerical support and data/imaging management support to a wide range of internal and external customers for medical imaging information. May also assist the Mammography Technologist.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

None required.

Experience

Exceptional customer service skills are required. Knowledge of Internet software, Microsoft applications, and medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise new and existing staff.

  • Monitor staff performance, schedules, timecards, provide feedback, and escalate issues to management as needed.

  • Serve as primary contact between staff and management for workflow, process improvements, and staffing concerns.

  • Promote a collaborative and professional work environment.

  • Performs all image management duties such as:

    • Processing and routing incoming calls and departmental inquiries.

    • Uploading, documenting, and managing outside CDs; coordinating return or destruction.

    • Requesting, following up on, and merging outside imaging into patient records; updating CH MRNs.

    • Printing, scanning, and troubleshooting outside reports and transfer issues in PACS.

    • Creating, distributing, and coordinating CDs with departments; contacting patients about unclaimed CDs.

    • Filing and securely discarding release forms; maintaining legal request records.
