Full-Time Lead Hand

Here at United Safety Ltd., we are looking for multiple local individuals to join our field operations team that will be pivotal to our business growth in Lloydminster In this full-time Lead Hand position, you will support local operations with a variety of Safety Sensitive tasks, in a variety of environments in the downstream petroleum industry including refinery, chemical, upgrader, power generation, and plant facilities for turnaround/shutdown, maintenance, and construction projects.

This position is open to local Lloydminster and surrounding area (up to 30km from city center), candidates only. Applicants outside of these parameters will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and controls required activities with on-site client representative(s) for downstream activities including turnaround/shutdowns, plant facility maintenance, and plant construction
• Installs and dismantles (deploys) various safety equipment, including loading and transporting equipment to the worksite; strategically places required equipment for rapid response (positioned appropriately) including air trailers, lines, manifolds, breathing apparatuses, gas detection systems, barriers, signs and briefing areas
• Operates and ensures function, operational readiness of various equipment and testing systems to ensure response quality
• Conducts drills, rescues, inspections & tests, site hazard assessments and safety meetings on-site
• Provides Confined Space Monitoring activities

Requirements

• Eligible to work in Canada
• Local candidates within Lloydminster area
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License (Non GDLs)
• Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Possess current H2S Alive, 2-day Standard First Aid, and Common Safety Orientations (CSO) safety tickets
• Able to successfully complete specialized paid training by United Safety
