POSITION: Lead Groundskeeper - Long Beach Amphitheater

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Ground Supervisor

Compensation $27.20 per hour, increasing to $29.70 per hour effective October 1, 2026.

THE ROLE
Legends Global Long Beach Amphitheater has an immediate opening for a Part- Time Lead Groundskeeper for Long Beach Amphitheater. This position is responsible for responsible for performing grounds and cleaning and landscape maintenance assigned by the Grounds Supervisor.


Please note that Long Beach Amphitheater employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and union membership is a condition of employment.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assign duties to grounds keeper staff.
  • Responsible for the proper storage of facility event equipment when not in use.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are cleaned and returned to their proper place when finished with them.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve grounds keeping operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and with other building departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.
  • Perform turf and landscape activities such as such as dragging the infield for in-game maintenance, raking, tamping and watering the playing field.
  • Assist with cleaning.
  • Assist with the set up and removal of equipment.
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs and flowers.
  • Assist in the placement and removal of equipment and weathering during inclement weather.
  • Assist with cleanup and maintenance of tools, equipment and the shop work area.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years janitorial/custodial experience required.
  • Good leadership and communication skills necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Skills and knowledge to perform routine manual and physical tasks regularly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and consistent punctuality.
  • Ability to operate grounds equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
