Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support enterprise capital portfolio budgeting and forecasting by coordinating inputs, maintaining the annual planning calendar, consolidating marine investment requests, and preparing monthly outlooks on performance vs. plan.
  • Support capital governance and approval processes by partnering with project teams to gather assumptions, build/refresh business case financials, coordinate reviews, and track decisions and required follow-ups.
  • Prepare quarterly capital forecasts and scenario analyses by refreshing spend timing and in-service projections across open projects, calculating impacts to write-offs, and summarizing risks and trade-offs for leadership review.
  • Support the quarterly in-service process and related SOX controls by coordinating required documentation, validating inputs, and ensuring timely completion of control steps and evidence retention.
  • Maintain multi-year capital roadmap files and supporting analyses, including ROI summaries and strategic fit inputs, to enable portfolio review and allocation discussions.
  • Coordinate portfolio management cadence with Project Owners by tracking execution status, surfacing schedule/cost/scope variances, and escalating issues with recommended data-driven options.
  • Deliver analytics and decision support for priority initiatives by building models, validating assumptions, evaluating alternatives, and summarizing findings for stakeholder review.
  • Prepare materials (presentations, briefs, and talking points) by translating analyses into clear summaries, key drivers, and decision considerations for leadership audiences.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies, financial controls, and reporting standards (SOX and other requirements) by following established processes, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements that increase transparency and efficiency.
  • Provide ad hoc financial leadership and analysis as required, including rapid response support for emerging priorities and executive requests.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Support the financial framework for capital investment decisions, including business cases, valuation approaches, and sensitivity/scenario analyses aligned to governance expectations.
  • Prepare consolidated portfolio reporting and insights (monthly and quarterly), highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, and follow-up items for leadership review.
  • Execute SOX and Company capital reporting requirements by maintaining audit-ready documentation, completing control evidence on schedule, and partnering with Accounting/Controls to resolve exceptions.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or other highly analytical field from an accredited college or university; MBA a plus.
  • Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning/analysis, capital planning, business case development, and/or project/portfolio financial support; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Capital portfolio tracking and financial analysis skills; ability to evaluate trade-offs and support outcomes across performance, budget, schedule, and scope constraints.
  • Deep understanding of capital expenditure vs. operating expense accounting rules and implications for financial statements and performance management.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; ability to build effective working relationships across Finance, Operations, Accounting, and governance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational discipline with proven ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient understanding and working knowledge of GAAP as it relates to depreciation and disposition of fixed assets.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and project/portfolio tools (e.g., MS Project); ability to automate, simplify, and elevate reporting and insights.
  • Advanced analytical and critical-thinking skills, including long-term financial modeling, valuation, and the ability to challenge assumptions and synthesize insights into clear recommendations.
  • Understanding of cruise line operations (hotel and technical), global deployment, and shipboard work environments is a plus.
  • Skilled in creating dashboards and visualizations and applying AI to streamline analysis and uncover insights a plus
