The Expert- GFRT is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and consolidating monthly and quarterly financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Ind AS standards. This role requires ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness in reporting, supporting management decision making and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of complex and unusual transactions in Compliance with Accounting standards
    • Interpret and apply IFRS and Ind AS requirements to evaluate agreements involving collaboration deals with third parties, In-licensing, out-licensing arrangements and other transactions.
    • Determine the appropriate accounting treatment based on evaluation as per applicable GAAP requirements ( i.e., IFRS and Ind AS)
    • Evaluate the disclosure requirements on the financial statements
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and evaluate the implications.
    • Co-ordinate with external statutory auditors to finalise and conclude the accounting treatment determined
  • Monthly & Quarterly Financial Review
    • Perform detailed review of financial statements to ensure compliance as per GAAP.
    • Review disclosures in periodical financials filed with SEBI and SEC
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS and Ind AS accounting standards.
    • Conduct periodic update meetings with various Business units and statutory auditors.
    • Consolidate the non-routine transactions and align on the conclusions with statutory auditors.
    • Evaluate impact of subsequent events arising prior to finalisation and approval of financial statements by the Board of directors.
    • Ensure timely finalisation of deliverables to the audit committee.
  • Process Improvement
    • Streamline reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Implement automation tools and reporting templates.
    • Contribute to internal controls and governance frameworks.
    • Periodic technical accounting sessions for relevant stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Support
    • Provide financial insights to management for strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including central teams to support in the various deals and strategies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in financial reporting, auditing and prior experience in any Big 4 is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ind AS standards in particular – IFRS 15, IAS 38, IFRS 3, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9.
  • Experience in consolidation of financial statements, finalisation of annual reports and preferable knowledge on various filings with SEC (Form 6K and Form 20F).
  • Knowledge in SAP.
  • Analytical mind set with attention to detail.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills

Deep into its digitalization transformation journey, the function works with all departments in the organization as a strategic partner and plays a major role in supporting management in its decision making.

The function is distributed globally and has business partnering teams allied to different business units as Controller and Planners. And, secondly distributed as multiple Centre of Excellence housed in Corporate office, such as treasury, Risk & Assurance, Taxation, Corporate Analytics, Investor Relations, GFRT and GBS.
