Lead Gas Process Owner supports the Continuous Improvement Manager as the lead for continuous improvement efforts for the Natural Gas Business Unit. This position provides leadership in the assignment of work for the Continuous Improvement team. The Lead Gas Process Owner will provide guidance, direction, standards, and high level analysis to all Gas Process Owners in support of continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, this position will provide feedback to the Continuous Improvement Manager regarding team issues and activities. Leads teams and meetings in the Manager’s absence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex or high profile, cross-functional continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology

  • Facilitate project identification and completion with stakeholders, process owners and project teams

  • Perform the following internal consulting services process mapping, value stream mapping, process design, methods development, establishing performance standards/metrics, return on investment or value proposition analysis, project management and detailed process analysis using Lean Six Sigma, Agile & Design Thinking tools

  • Perform change management functions to ensure successful implementation

  • Utilize data and LSS framework to help teams develop and implement solutions

  • Provides guidance and leadership to Continuous Improvement employees on work assignments and work schedules; helps removing impediments as needed

  • Trains and mentors lesser experienced Gas Process Owners in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Responsible for the coordination of work assignments

  • Collaborates with business partners to understand opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives and potential areas to gain efficiencies or cost savings

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • In addition to bachelor's degree, seven (7) years minimum of related work experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Data Analytics Certification and/or Lean Gold Certification and/or Data Science Certification

Please note: any of the above certifications are acceptable to meet the minimum qualifications. If the certification is in progress, the candidate must show proof of completion within 60 days of employment.

Desired Qualifications

  • In addition to desired degree, 10 years related work experience

  • Certified SCRUM Product Owner

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Working Conditions

  • M - F, 2-3 days per week at the office

  • Travel may be needed in some instances, although rare

  • Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to Duke Energy Plaza.
