Job Description

Role: Lead - Fundraising and Donor Management, Mumbai
Experience: 8-12 years
Salary: 25-30 LPA

_______________________________________________________

The Lead - Fundraising & Partnerships will strengthen the Organization's external engagement and fundraising pipeline, enabling the entity to support its next phase of growth across both its Centre of Excellence and its scaled educational initiative.

The role focuses on building a structured, diversified, and proactive fundraising approach—moving beyond purely relationship-led fundraising to a robust, pipeline-driven model spanning institutional partnerships, individual giving, unrestricted funding, digital campaigns, and new-age philanthropy. The successful candidate will complement leadership efforts by expanding outreach, opening new doors, strengthening external visibility, and building long-term partnerships to support sustainability and growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Pipeline Development

  • Build and manage a structured and comprehensive pipeline of institutional donors, CSR partners, family offices, HNIs, and philanthropists.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities aligned with strategic priorities and program needs.
  • Expand the organization's unrestricted funding base.
  • Track and manage pipeline progress through structured systems and reviews.

2. Individual Giving & Campaigns

  • Strengthen the individual giving ecosystem and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Support digital fundraising and new-age giving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to build campaigns around inclusion, advocacy, products, and storytelling.
  • Explore newer fundraising models such as peer-to-peer campaigns, online giving, giving circles, crowdfunding opportunities, and community-led fundraising.

3. Relationship Building & External Engagement

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with donors, corporates, foundations, and strategic stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, forums, exhibitions, networking platforms, and sector events.
  • Develop strategic networks that support fundraising, visibility, partnerships, and advocacy efforts.

4. Partnership Development & Support

  • Identify strategic partnerships beyond funding (e.g., knowledge sharing, visibility, collaborations, and platforms).
  • Leverage existing products, initiatives, campaigns, and events as engagement and fundraising opportunities.
  • Develop proposals, partnership and engagement frameworks, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Support leadership in donor meetings, partnership discussions, and fundraising conversions.
  • Prepare presentations, concept notes, proposals, and communication materials.
  • Align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and program needs.

5. Systems & Reporting

  • Build systems to track donor engagement, the fundraising pipeline, and metrics reporting.
  • Strengthen donor communication and engagement processes.
  • Support more predictable, data-driven fundraising planning.

Experience & Profile Requirements

  • Experience: 8–12+ years of relevant experience, including leading fundraising, partnerships, donor engagement, or institutional relations functions. Candidates currently at the Senior Manager, Lead, Head, or equivalent level are encouraged to apply.

  • Sector Exposure: Experience with fundraising pipelines and donor engagement activities is required. Prior exposure to CSR partnerships, institutional fundraising, individual giving, and major campaigns is highly preferred.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to create compelling proposals, presentations, and donor pitches.

  • Stakeholder Management: Comfort engaging confidently in external settings, financial discussions, donor conversations, and strategic partnership meetings.

  • Mindset: Strong research and analytical abilities, a creative approach to campaigns, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for social impact and disability inclusion.
