Lead FleetTechnician

Batesville, AR

Summary:

The Lead Technician oversees the day-to-day maintenance operations and serves as a mentor for the fleet maintenance team. This role ensures that shop floor operations run efficiently, while also performing advanced repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles. The Lead Technician will provide guidance and training to Technicians, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Essential Functions:

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth shop operations.
• Perform all maintenance tasks, complex repairs, and inspections as conducted by Technicians.
• Mentor and train technicians, promoting skill development, safety, and collaboration.
• Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
• Ensure all fleet maintenance activities comply with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately and timely.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support overall fleet reliability.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

• 4+ years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, air brakes, and emissions control systems.
• Strong proficiency with DOT regulations and compliance standards
• TIA Certification or other relevant technical certification preferred
• HS diploma, GED

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
