Xylem is looking for two Lead Field Service Technicians to report to our sites in Riverview, Bartow, Lakeland, Plant City, or Mulberry, FL. These technicians will lead overnight operations while servicing and maintaining industrial wastewater treatment equipment. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving safe, efficient execution, serving as the overnight subject matter expert, and providing technical guidance to both the team and customer.

What your day will look like as a Lead Field Service Technician

The Elite/Lead Field Service Technician is the overnight lead and primary point of contact for operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. This role serves as the subject matter expert in industrial wastewater treatment, providing real-time troubleshooting, technical expertise, and operational support while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the overnight lead and primary point of contact for team members and customer interactions.

  • Serving as the subject matter expert in industrial wastewater treatment by providing expert guidance and technical support.

  • Providing real-time direction and prioritization to keep work progressing safely and on schedule.

  • Modeling and reinforcing a safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.

  • Performing routine safety and operational inspections across equipment, processes, and work areas.

  • Troubleshooting equipment, process, and operational issues to minimize downtime.

  • Maintaining situational awareness and adjusting priorities based on changing operational needs.

  • Supporting customer-facing interactions with professionalism, responsiveness, and timely issue resolution.

  • Driving execution by ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Leading overnight projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational enhancements.

  • Identifying recurring issues and recommending solutions to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

  • Ensuring tools, materials, and work areas are organized and ready to support efficient operations.

  • Providing detailed shift handoffs, including operational status, risks, and follow-up actions.

  • Escalating critical issues appropriately while taking ownership of immediate problem-solving.

Schedule:

We are hiring for two overnight positions, both working 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Position 1: Every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday.

  • Position 2: Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.

Position Requirements for Lead Field Service Technicians:

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or operational training preferred.

  • Strong expertise in industrial wastewater treatment required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading projects and/or teams in an industrial, manufacturing, wastewater treatment, operations, or similar environment.

  • Proven experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, wastewater treatment, logistics, warehouse, or other fast-paced operational environments.

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and operational discipline.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while serving as a trusted technical resource for the team.

  • Strong communication, leadership, ownership, and accountability skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety and execution standards.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, smart devices, operational reporting systems, and documentation preferred.

  • Ability to work in a high customer-facing environment.

  • Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns.

  • Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screen.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, including skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
