Role: Facility & Engineering Lead

Job Location: Manesar

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the Development centre facility and warm shell office in Delhi NCR region, including engineering utilities (power distribution, water treatment, compressed air, steam systems) and electroplating lines (anodizing, plating baths, wastewater treatment).
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting downtime, and coordinating repairs to minimize production disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations in a chemical environment through audits, risk assessments, and training programs.
  • Manage a team of technicians and contractors; conduct performance reviews, training, and resource allocation.
  • Optimize energy usage, utility costs, and sustainability initiatives while maintaining high uptime for electroplating and chemical processing equipments.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to support process improvements, capital projects, and emergency response planning.
  • Monitor budgets, track KPIs (e.g., equipment reliability, maintenance costs), and generate reports for senior leadership.
  • Respond to facility emergencies, including chemical spills, equipment failures, or utility outages, with a focus on zero-incident safety culture.

Technical / Engineering skills (not limited to):

  • Electrical
    • Interpretation of various drawings and diagrams related to building and engineering equipment.
    • Working knowledge of LT Panel, SLD, control wiring, Panels, Circuit breakers, HT, VCB & other electrical various safety equipments.
    • Working knowledge of PLC, BMS, Access control & Fire detection /PA systems.
  • HVAC
    • Understanding of operation & maintenance of water cooled & air-cooled chillers.
    • Functioning of condenser, cooling towers, AHU, TFA, air extraction system & scrubbers.
    • Good knowledge of air quality management in chemical hazard areas.
    • Good knowledge of HVAC load calculation and designing.
  • Fire Fighting
    • Setting, adjustment & programming of fire alarm panel and PA system.
    • Working principle, functioning & maintenance of hydrant, sprinkler & jockey pumps with automation.
    • Good understanding of cause & effect of various material of fire (fire triangle).
    • Good experience of emergency / BCP management.
  • Civil
    • Basic understanding of local rules & regulations.
    • Reading of basic layout drawings prepared by Architect / consultant & interpretation w.r.t. NBC regulations.
    • Preparation of small project BOQs & management of interior, civil work, clean room and MEP related work.
  • Water Treatment plant / hazardous waste
    • Good understanding of WWTP, STP, RO, DI plant maintenance.
    • Knowledge of the occupational hazards in wastewater treatment plants and safety measures to be implemented.
    • Ability to operate, recognize needed repairs, maintain equipment used in the wastewater treatment process.
    • Good understanding of waste management and all regulatory requirements as per PCB norms.
  • Chemical processes
    • Should understand chemical compatibility chart (resistance of materials when exposed to different substances).
    • Use of various piping materials for chemical transfer (PPR, PVDF, PVC, PP, SS, titanium etc).

Qualifications / professional experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • 13–15 years in facility and maintenance operations, preferably in chemical, specialty chemicals, or electroplating manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing site operations with teams of indirect/contractual staff.
  • Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, electroplating technology, and industrial utilities design/operation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, EHS management systems, and audit readiness (internal, regulatory, customer).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑site teams, contractors, and vendors under demanding conditions.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills (with plant heads, safety, environment, and corporate leadership).
  • SAP usage proficiency.
  • Expertise with relevant plant equipments and machinery (Utilities etc.).
  • Documentation and MIS Reporting.
  • MS office use proficiency and good presentation skills.
