Nightwing is seeking a Lead Facilities Technicianto support the day-to-day operations and maintenance (O&M) of assigned facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong skilled-trades or technical background, such as mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, controls, construction, or another related trade, and practical experience supporting building systems and facility operations.The Lead Facilities Technician will serve as a hands-on technical resource and provide day-to-day leadership to the Facilities Support team. This role will coordinate routine maintenance activities, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, vendor support, and facility-related requirements to ensure assigned facilitiesremainsafe, reliable, operational, and wellmaintainedThe successful candidate will use their trade experience and practical knowledge of building systems toidentifyissues, coordinate corrective actions, support facility improvements, and work closely with Building Engineers, Facilities Technicians, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and the customer. While the role may support renovation or construction activities as needed, the primary focus will be facility operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support
Clearance Requirement:TS/SCI with CI Polygraph ( must be willing to upgrade)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities for assigned facilities
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to Facilities Technicians and other members of the Facilities Support team
Plan, prioritize, and coordinate preventative maintenance activities to ensuretimelycompletion
Respond to facility issues and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, and corrective maintenance
Serve as a primary technical point of contact for building maintenance and facility-related issues
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, Building Engineers, and other technical resources asrequired
Monitor facility conditions andidentifypotential maintenance, repair, or operational issues before they become larger problems
Maintain clear communication with building occupants and the customerregardingfacility issues, maintenance activities, and potential disruptions
Support the development of maintenance requirements, work orders, Statements of Work (SOWs), and vendor scopes as needed
Maintainappropriate recordsof maintenance activities, repairs, expenditures, materials, and outstanding facility issues
Support emergency response and facility-related issues asrequired, including after-hours emergencies
Assistwith facility improvement, renovation, and construction activities whenrequired
Facilities Lead Duties:
Support the operation and maintenance of building systems at assigned locations, including but not limited to:
HVAC systems
Electrical and lighting systems
Power systems
Plumbing and water management systems
Fire and life safety systems
Building automation and control systems
General interior and exterior facility maintenance
Security Control Systems
Apply practical trades knowledge to troubleshoot building systems and identifyappropriate correctiveactions
Coordinate preventative maintenance workloads among Facilities Technicians, Building Engineers, and subcontractors
Review completed maintenance work to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with established requirements
Monitor inventory of tools, supplies, spare parts, and materials needed to support facility operations
Identifyrecurring equipment or facility issues andassistin developing recommendations for corrective action
Assistwith developing maintenance schedules and tracking completion of required work
Coordinate with the PMO and customer to communicate facility conditions, maintenance requirements, and emerging issues
Provide routine reporting on maintenance activities, facility issues, expenditures, and upcoming requirements
Support the response to facility emergencies, including mechanical system faults, electrical issues, fire alarm activations, BMS issues, plumbing failures, and other building-related problems
Provide 24/7 emergency response support asrequiredfor assigned facilities
Facility Improvement and Renovation Support:
Provide technical and facilities support for minor renovations, facility improvements, and construction activities asrequired
Review proposed facility modifications from a maintenance and operational perspective
Provide practical inputregardingmaintainability, access, equipment, building systems, and long-term facility operations
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during facility improvement activities to help ensure work is completed according to established requirements
Support project closeout byidentifyingoutstanding facility-related issues and ensuringappropriate documentationis provided
Provide technical input to larger renovation or construction projects managed by the PMO or designated project management personnel
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Experience in a skilled trade, technical discipline, or facilities-related field, such as mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, controls, construction, or another related trade, isrequired
Demonstrated hands-on experience working with building systems, facility maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, or technical operations
Experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring other technicians or trades personnel is highly desirable
Practical understanding of multiple building systems and their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Ability to diagnose facility issues, determineappropriate nextsteps, and coordinate the resources necessary to resolve them
Ability to read and understand technical documentation, equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and maintenance requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, building occupants, technicians, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requirements and respond effectively to changing facility needs
Experience with preventative maintenance programs, work order systems, inventory management, and facility documentation
Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a larger Facilities and PMO team
Ability to support facility emergencies andparticipatein an after-hours/on-call response asrequired
Ability to work in a secure environment andcomply withapplicable facility, safety, security, and operational requirements
Working knowledge of applicable building codes, safety requirements, and industry standards
Ability and willingness to developadditionalknowledge of building systems and facility operations beyond the candidate's primary trade discipline
Familiarity with ICD 705 and TEMPEST requirements
Desired Skills:
Journeyman-level trade experience, trade certification, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience in commercial, industrial, government, mission-critical, or secure facilities
Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
Experience with preventative maintenance management systems or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Experience coordinating vendors and subcontractors
Experience supporting facility renovations, construction, or building improvement projects
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, or other technical drawing and documentation software
Salary & Benefits
The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
