Position: Lead Maintenance Technician
Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt

Position Summary:
The Lead Facilities Technician supports the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of buildings, grounds, and facility systems. This role coordinates routine maintenance activities, assists with prioritizing and monitoring work orders, and helps ensure facility needs are addressed in a timely, safe, and effective manner. The Lead Facilities Technician will work closely with the Facilities Manager to implement and support preventive maintenance programs, vendor coordination, facility inspections, and the identification and resolution of maintenance needs while promoting compliance with organizational standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinates day-to-day maintenance activities for buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles under the direction of the facilities leadership.
- Assists with assigning and prioritizing work orders and monitoring progress to support timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Supports emergency response efforts and participates in on-call coverage to address facility-related issues promptly.
- Assists with the implementation and coordination of preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
- Assists with coordinating vendor services and monitoring work to help ensure compliance with contractual requirements and service expectations.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment necessary to support facility operations.
- Performs maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Support facility setup and operational needs, including conference room arrangements and basic audio/visual support.
- Monitors building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, identifies potential problems and promptly communicates issues and concerns to facilities leadership.
- Conducts routine inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Supports safety and emergency preparedness initiatives, including participation in fire drills, inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Maintains accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Required Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent (GED).
- Five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance with special knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction.
- EPA (HVAC/Refrigeration) Certification.
- Electrical Apprentice License.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical knowledge related to carpentry/handiwork, minor household repairs, electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of lawn maintenance/gardening.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of Facility Safety and Maintenance practices.
- Requires specific knowledge related to building, equipment, and ground and vehicle maintenance.
- Adept at staying organized while executing multiple projects.
- Ability to interact with professionals and staff from a variety of disciplines with a service orientation.
Work Conditions:
- Environment: Office, Indoor and Outdoor facility areas, Mechanical Rooms
- May be exposed to unpleasant or hazardous conditions, including electrical systems, mechanical equipment, chemicals, and construction areas.
- Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and outdoor conditions/
- Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Requires availability to respond to facility emergencies outside of normal hours, including, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel: Frequent – May be required to travel between multiple facility locations. This position will drive DePelchin vehicles on agency business. Valid Texas Driver License required.
