UGL Transport Rail & Technology Systems (RTS) is seeking experienced Lead Estimators who are passionate about developing winning proposals and delivering commercial outcomes across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, industrial and technology projects.


Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Lead Estimator is to lead the proposal specific estimating function for tenders, EOIs, operational budgets and any other pricing duties as required and/or directed by management. This position will assist Proposals stakeholders to manage and coordinate estimates (e.g., support from other estimators, SMEs, operational staff etc.) and pricing documentation for management reviews and submissions.

The role will support estimators, may be seconded to JV partners and their offices from time-to-time, be involved in bid development, tender management, standards and planning.


Key Responsibilities
Working closely with project, engineering, and commercial teams, you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, detailed cost estimates and high-quality bid submissions that support business growth and project success.

Responsibilities may include:
Preparing detailed requests for quotation, cost estimates and tender pricing.
Reviewing scopes of work, specifications, drawings and contract documentation.
Developing estimates across structural, mechanical and electrical work packages.
Conducting quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Preparing bid submissions, methodologies and supporting documentation.
Identifying project risks and opportunities.
Collaborating with engineering, project delivery and commercial teams.
Supporting tender reviews and client presentations.


Qualifications
Engineering degree or relevant Trade qualification (structural, mechanical and/or electrical background).
Minimum of 7 years experience in Estimating, Bid Management, Operations, Engineering, with exposure to small, medium and large tenders/projects.
Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
Experience managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software platforms.
