Job Posting Description

1. Planning. Partners with the manager to coordinate daily workload, including tickets and project initiatives. Reviews team assignments, prioritizes work based on business needs, and recommends staffing or assignment adjustments to ensure appropriate coverage and timely delivery.

2. Senior Resource. Serves as a senior-level resource with specialized expertise in the team’s core Epic applications and related systems. Guides analysts through design, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. Acts as the primary escalation point for highly complex or cross-application issues.

3. Business Solutions. Applies deep domain knowledge and a consultative approach to understand operational needs and determine optimal solutions. Solutions may include new functionality, vendor products, integrations, or enhancements with broad user impact. Conducts comprehensive technical and operational analyses, evaluates multiple solution paths, and recommends the most effective option. Researches vendor capabilities and assesses significant integration requirements for Epic and related systems, recommending necessary customizations. Projects typically span 3–6 months from planning through implementation.

4. Builds & Configuration. Performs advanced system configuration or customization to meet business and clinical needs. Implements significant build changes such as security class updates, complex scheduling logic, provider/user template creation, and workflow modifications. Changes may affect large user populations, provider access, patient admitting, billing, nursing workflows, and other downstream processes. Leads or performs unit, integrated, and specialty testing to ensure system integrity.

5. Integrations. Manages implementation of core Epic changes with third-party, Epic-eligible vendors and internal systems to ensure seamless integration. Maintains, upgrades, and tests all third-party interfaces. Collaborates with project managers and IT teams on multi-application initiatives and coordinates vendor-supported integration requirements.

6. Upgrades. Coordinates team activities related to system upgrades. Partners with the manager to establish timelines, assign release notes, and ensure deliverables are met. Communicates milestones to stakeholders and escalates risks or barriers as appropriate.

7. Communications. Facilitates team meetings to review deliverables, shared issues, user concerns, and upcoming milestones. Maintains ongoing communication with cross-functional teams due to integration and cross-application work. Participates in leadership updates and represents the team in internal and external meetings.

8. Team Leadership. Reviews team schedules with the manager to ensure adequate coverage. Escalates concerns impacting team performance or work environment and assists in implementing solutions. Supports onboarding and orientation of new staff. Mentors and trains team members on policies, procedures, documentation standards, best practices, escalation protocols, supporting systems, and time management. Monitors work quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, including conducting audits as requested. Provides performance feedback to the manager regarding goals, deliverables, and competencies.

9. User Training. Develops or contributes to training curriculum for online and in-person instruction to support system adoption and workflow optimization.

10. Process & Procedure Improvement. Assists in developing and implementing process improvements and procedural updates. Ensures the team has appropriate resources and identifies gaps requiring leadership attention. Supports execution of improvement initiatives.

11. Professional Development. Participates in Epic national forums (e.g., XGM, UGM), attends Epic trainings and conferences, and pursues additional certifications and internal professional development opportunities.
