Job Description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

The Head – SAP & Enterprise Applications is accountable for end‑to‑end ownership of SAP and allied enterprise applications, serving as the digital backbone for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Finance operations.

The role defines the enterprise SAP strategy, ensures stable, secure, and scalable operations, and drives measurable business outcomes through S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and emerging technologies including AI, automation, and clean‑core innovations.

This position acts as a single‑point business owner for SAP applications, partnering closely with Business Heads, IT CoEs, and strategic system integrators across domestic and international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SAP Functional Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership for SAP and allied enterprise applications across Logistics, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Sales domains.
  • Define and govern global SAP templates, standards, and clean‑core principles across plants and geographies.
  • Drive continuous process harmonization, simplification, and digitization across Logistics, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Sales.
  • Act as the functional and solution authority for SAP decisions impacting enterprise processes.
  1. Program and Project Management
  • Lead large SAP programs including S/4HANA implementations – Domestic and international, rollouts, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
  • Own program governance, benefits realization, and executive reporting.
  • Ensure delivery outcomes such as – adoption of standard processes, Improved system availability and business process cycle time reduction.
  • Balance transformation initiatives with operational stability (“run & transform”).
  • Establish strong change, release, and incident governance across SAP landscapes.
  1. Parter & Ecosystem Leadership
  • Manage relationships with system integrators, SAP partners, and third‑party vendors.
  • Drive outcome‑based delivery, SLAs, and continuous improvement from partners.
  • Leverage SAP ecosystem innovations (BTP, Joule, AI, automation) aligned to business value.
  1. People and Capability Development
  • Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team of SAP functional experts and consultants.
  • Define capability roadmap covering S/4HANA, BTP, AI, integration, and analytics.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Experience

  • 12-15 years of experience in manufacturing industry
  • Proven experience in large SAP implementations, preferably SAP S/4HANA & Digital transformational projects.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in large, multi-location, Multi countries SAP Landscape.
  • Exposure to automation, analytics, and emerging SAP technologies.
  • Hands‑on involvement in SAP innovation, AI‑enabled operations, and digital manufacturing use cases.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering / B.Tech
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred

General Requirements

Critical Skills:

  • Deep functional expertise in Core SAP Modules like MM, SD, PP, Logistics and GST Compliance.
  • Strong SAP Solution architecture understanding across SAP S4Hana, BTP, Integrations x
  • Experience with SAP BTP, AI/GenAI/ Joule, Automation, and clean core principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Executive stakeholder management and governance leadership.
