The Lead Engineer – Vibration / HALT is responsible for leading and managing environmental testing activities with a focus on vibration and HALT/HASS testing. This role ensures compliance with NABL (ISO/IEC 17025) requirements while driving planning, execution, supervision, and quality assurance of lab testing services. The role also emphasizes strong technical expertise, team leadership, customer engagement, and continuous improvement in testing processes and laboratory operations.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL accreditation requirements
  • Prepare and maintain SOPs, test methods, calibration and traceability records, and measurement uncertainty evaluations
  • Participate in internal and external audits and proficiency testing programs; address audit observations and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of lab equipment and ensure timely calibration with traceability to national/international standards
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment upgrades, maintenance, and AMC support
  • Engage with customers for technical discussions, clarifications, and test requirement reviews
  • Provide technical inputs for proposals and ensure timely delivery of accurate test reports
  • Lead, mentor, and train engineers and technicians; drive capability development and adherence to safety practices
  • Execute laboratory quality activities such as ILC and PT programs
  • Lead vibration testing (sine, random, shock, transportation simulation) and HALT/HASS testing programs
  • Develop, review, and approve test procedures, plans, and work instructions
  • Interpret international standards such as IEC, MIL, ASTM, ISO, and JSS, along with customer specifications
  • Ensure appropriate test setup, instrumentation selection, and fixture design
  • Provide technical leadership in failure analysis and root cause investigations
  • Evaluate test results and generate technically sound reports
  • Plan and manage workload, manpower, and testing schedules
  • Ensure optimal utilization and uptime of lab equipment including shakers, chambers, and controllers

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience in environmental testing, with a focus on vibration and HALT/HASS testing
  • Expertise in electrodynamic vibration systems and accelerated life testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60068, MIL-STD-810, ASTM, and related specifications
  • Understanding of fixture design principles and resonance avoidance techniques
  • Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL accreditation processes
  • Ability to lead testing activities, manage lab operations, and ensure compliance

  • Experience leading environmental testing laboratories or similar facilities
  • Strong exposure to customer-facing technical discussions and proposal support
  • Advanced problem-solving and failure analysis skills
  • Experience in lab audits, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop technical teams
  • Familiarity with advanced data acquisition and control systems used in vibration/HALT testing
