Job Description

GA CCS Lead Protection and Control (CCS) Engineer will execute Conventional Control System (CCS) engineering activities considering the quality/Cost/time for the project assigned. This role involves the execution of project design activities in line with the Engineering Process. Monitoring and controlling of project design budget, implementing design change process, supervising, and coordinating all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensuring the compliance to project technical specification in line with defined scope. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of CCS engineering activities of the project. The successful candidate will coordinate with cross functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient design delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the Design and Engineering activities for the Protection and Control Panels of EHV/HV Substation adhering the Quality, Cost and time.
  • Understanding the project technical requirement Customer Standards and specification and proposing the solution to customer as per the project scope.
  • Performing the technical calculation for panels AC/DC Load, CT/PT Sizing & its Adequacy and Relay Setting.
  • Selection of Protection Relays and other auxiliary materials as per project technical specification and customer requirement.
  • Preparation/Reviews and submission of the complete detail design of the project to customer and its follow-up for approval.
  • Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify and design the project as per the required technical standards and specification.
  • Preparation and coordination for all applicable Manufacturing documents required for panels integration.
  • Support factory during Panels Integration and FAT and clarify/close any raise comments/snags during FAT.
  • Supporting management for Man-days and materials estimation during ITO stage and its control during OTR stage.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of design and documents to stakeholders with quality.
  • Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to PL procedures and per the project strategy.
  • Participate to project strategy elaboration with PM and manage design issues up to resolution.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements, and preparation of the compliance, and highlighting the potential risk/exception in the projects to the Project Team.
  • Raise Change request for any such requirements which are not as per the project specification.
  • Validate design throughout customer acceptance and check consistency of engineering documents before final release to customer by evaluating the customer requirements & associated impacts.
  • Work for the cost optimization during the project’s execution through standardization and out of the box ideas, starting from the base design phase till the energizing stage.
  • Review & validate the technical offers from suppliers, Support Procurement during commercial negotiation for POs issuance and during post order stage.
  • Works for the enhancement and improvement of the design and solution to meet customer requirement in an optimum way.
  • Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team and setting the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observes work conditions and behaviors, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention.
  • Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy.
  • Works with application team to address any product issues and provide the solution to the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in electrical engineering or related discipline from a reputed university
  • 10 years minimum relevant experience in HV/EHV substation design and engineering
  • Knowledge of GE and Competitors Products
  • Knowledge of Substation Automation System
  • Knowledge of Digital Substation and Station and Process bus Communication, IEC61850/PRP /RSTP and other Serial Communication
  • Good oral/written communication skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region without limitation
